  • Jennifer Mills (PhD student, Matched Funding Studentship, joined the lab in August 2013; graduated with a First Class honours degree in Psychology from Royal Holloway University of London)
  • Dr. Georgios Argyropoulis (BBSRC-funded postdoctoral scientist joined the lab in January 2013; previously a postdoctoral research fellow in the Solodkin/Small Brain Circuits Laboratory in the University of California,Irvine; PhD from Language Evolution and Computation Research Unit, University of Edinburgh, June 2011).
  • Dr. Silvia Clausi (visiting scholar from the Ataxia Research Lab, IRCCS Santa Lucia Foundation, University of Rome Sapienza, Italy; collaboration with Prof. John Rothwell and I on the effects of cerebellar stimulation on rule processing)
  • Dr. Matthew Apps (former ESRC 1+3 funded PhD Student, now a postdoctoral scientist working with Dr. Manos Tsakiris in the Psychology Department at Royal Holloway, University of London)
  • Elise Lesage (formerly ERASMUS student visiting from University of Leuven, Belgium, and then worked with me as a Research Assistant until August 2009; she is currently a PhD student supervised by Prof. Chris Miall in the School of Psychology at Birmingham University)
  • Dr Yuri Saalmann (former postdoctoral researcher, now working with Prof. Sabine Kastner at Princeton)
  • Dr. Joshua H. Balsters (former RHUL-SGUL Strategic Alliance funded PhD Student; now Postdoctoral Fellow at ETH Zurich working with Prof. Nicole Wenderoth; he is also Adjunct Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin)
  • Dr. Aimee L. Hayter (former PhD Student co-supervised with Dr. D. Langdon; completed a Clinical Psychology Doctorate at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London)

 

Royal Holloway undergraduate students have played important roles in the work of the lab, gaining research experience that has helped them to pursue research careers in leading labs and institutions:
  • James Bloomfield and Victor Kovalets, “Developmental trajectory of the human cerebellum”, current third year students.
  • Eden Hardman (former undergraduate and summer vacation student, will be starting a PhD in Neuroscience at Nottingham University in October 2013)
  • Javier Elkin (former undergraduate and summer vacation student; he went on to complete the MSc in Mind and Brain at UCL, and was then awarded a 4 year studentship for a PhD in Translational Cognitive Neuroscience at the ICN supervised by Prof. Geraint Rees and Dr. Parashkev Nachev)
  • Emma Cussans (former Wellcome Vacation undergraduate student; she completed PhD in the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology at Oxford University / Brasenose College Oxford).
  • Erman Misirlesoy (former undergraduate student, MSc project student and vacation student; currently a PhD student with Prof. Patrick Haggard at the Institute of  Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL).
  • Robin Green (former undergratuate, summer vacation student and MSc student at RHUL; he is currently a PhD student supervised by Prof. Glyn Humphries in the School of Psychology, Birmingham University)
  • Matthew Apps (former undergraduate, summer vacation student; he completed a PhD in this lab on a competitive ESRC 1+ 3 PhD Studentship; he is currently a postdoctoral scientist working with Dr Manos Tsakiris; see above)
  • Joshua H Balsters (former undergraduate, summer vacation student; he won a RHUL-SGUL Strategic Alliance PhD Studentship to work with me in this lab; see above for more career details; Josh has the dubious distinction of being the first member of my lab!)
